Anime Expo 2024

Last month was my yearly trip out to California to visit family as well as attend some conventions. I got a 4-day pass for Anime Expo, but only attended one day due to getting sick (Covid-19) on the first day there! Con crud is already a thing in the pre-covid world.

So I can only speak of my one day experience at AX this year.

I loved how the main banner on the LA convention center featured Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. As many have heard, Dragon Ball creator, Akira Toriyama passed away earlier this year on March 1, 2024.

I also attended with my family, the AMV competition. It’s nice to see the work and creativity put into each video, and each category.

Cosplay #

The cosplay at AX is never a disappointment. I think most of the cosplayers and photographers were set up outside between the convention center and the Crypto arena, either in the bushes or parking garage. A lot of props to them for doing so, since it was rather hot outside.

Final Thoughts #

I’m not sure if I’ll be taking much cosplay photos in the future. There is a part of me that’s more interested in spending time with my niece and nephew than run around for photos. It can be a lot of work, when I’d rather put energy with family enjoyment.
